Emotional Eating is a Worldwide Problem

According to the World Health Organization, obesity has more than doubled since 1980. Globally, there are more than 1 billion overweight adults, and of 22 industrialized countries, the U.S. has the highest obesity statistics. Obesity and overweight pose a major risk for serious diet-related chronic diseases, including type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, hypertension and stroke, and certain forms of cancer. We can not afford to ignore the price we are paying, both locally and globally, for this preventable situation.
